Job Description

Primary Purpose of Position:
The Collateral Specialist is responsible for ensuring vehicle and real estate collateral documents are accurate and filed within policy guidelines. This includes but is not limited to reviewing all relevant documents, providing out of state research, transferring vehicle documents to other jurisdictions and letter generation.

Essential Functions:
Reviews and processes documents to file liens on vehicle and HELOC loans to ensure Credit Union is protected in the event of bankruptcy or an insurance claim against the collateral.

Provides other departments feedback on errors which prohibit securing collateral.

Responds to general inquiries in relation to loans such as titling, loan documents, deeds of trust and other research and miscellaneous information from members.

Responsible for performing research on vehicle title issues.

Releasing of titles and deeds of trust on an as need basis.

Other duties as needed or assigned.

Consistently demonstrates the Westerra Way and complies with all polices and regulation.

Position Titles That Report To This Positions: None

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required
A minimum of 2+ years of similar or related experience
Knowledge of vehicle title and Deed of Trust documents and processing.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to titles and deeds preferred.

Skills and Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in a production environment with strong attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications

Office environment
